Choosing Your “Right” Brow Stylist

Choosing Your “Right” Brow Stylist can be frustrating. Having worked with a lot of customers, the most common complaint I have heard is that it’s so difficult to find the right brow stylist. Well, if you’re residents of New Jersey or New York, you don’t have to worry. Just make a booking with me and say goodbye to all your brow troubles! 🙂

I do understand that it can be hard to choose a good stylist who does your brows justice. Believe me …. There are many talented brow stylists out there. But, a good brow stylist is not just someone who is talented. You also want to look at the other qualities they have.

For this reason, I’ve prepared a small guide on how you can pick the right brow stylist for you.

Consults With You

Always make sure that you and your brow stylist have a consultation session. The consultation also prevents one from getting disappointed by the end result or having false expectations. During this time, discuss the shape you want, ask them to show you how it will look and tackle any questions about how they work.  Also, mention any preferences or limitations you have regarding your brows. Most people are okay with

waxing but not everyone’s skin can bear it.

A Good Communicator

This doesn’t relate to their ability to make small talk. Although, I do believe that some of the best talks about life can be had with your stylists. But, I mean that the brow stylist should be a good communicator with the customer, regarding the brow process.

They should talk about which arch style would be good for the client, according to their bone structure or recommend alternative arches that they may prefer. It’s also good to explain why a certain brow shape will better flatter their face.

In the end, the ultimate decision is going to be the customer’s, of course, but it’s always great to show them some options and talk about the process with them.

Give a Demonstration

What I learned from my experience is that most customers have their own ways of looking at their brows. Their brow shape is also very personal to them, which I fully understand and respect.

I also understand that it can sometimes take a 3rd party or a fresh set of eyes to convince them about the results outlook. For this reason, your brow stylist should be someone who can give a demonstration of their skills.

I always like to demonstrate the brow makeover with their friends, family, or a stranger alongside.  A good brow stylist should be able to show you with a brow makeover, prior to the waxing or tweezing process, so that you can get a good sense of what your new brow shape will look like.

Respects Your Comfort Zone

Not all customers are happy with a change. A good brow stylist should ask the customer about their comfort zone when doing the brow makeover. This can be a good way to gauge how you can teach them makeup techniques and recommend proper tools, products or shades.

Time and time I see many ladies wearing brow colors that don’t flatter their appearance and not filling in their brows properly. If a brow stylist makes you feel like you can’t make your brows without their help, it can actually scare you. A good stylist is one who will groom and support your efforts to look after your brows.

Maintenance and Aftercare

Going to a brow stylist should be more than just getting your brow fixed. It’s also a learning experience for you. A good stylist is someone who should be able to demonstrate and teach the customers how to maintain brows after the makeover is completed.

I’m sure a stylist who teaches you how to maintain your brows, in between visits, can boost your satisfaction with their services.

So, with these tips in mind, you can pick the right brow stylist to work with!
